Fix common Stayaway problems

Most problems have a quick fix: a second launch brings up the running copy, Repair licence refreshes a licence that shows Free, and Emergency Stop (Alt+X) ends any run at once. For anything else, use Report a problem in Settings and email us the file.

It will not open

Stayaway runs once per computer and often sits in the system tray. Opening it again brings the running copy to the front. If nothing appears, look for its icon near the clock, including behind the arrow that shows more icons.

It shows Free after I paid

Make sure you signed in with the email address the purchase was made with, then click Repair licence at the top of the window. If it still shows Free, write to us with the address and roughly when you bought.

A shortcut does nothing

Another app may have claimed the same combination first. Stayaway says so in Settings under Shortcuts, where you can choose a different one.

My antivirus removed it

Some antivirus tools flag apps that simulate input. If yours quarantined Stayaway, check the installer against the SHA-256 on the download page; if it matches, restore it or add it as an exception in your antivirus.

The pointer is doing something unexpected

Press Alt+X. Emergency Stop ends everything at once from anywhere. Then open Settings, find Something wrong?, press Report a problem, and email us the file it saves. It shows you what it holds before you send it: the app version, your plan, what state it was in and any faults, and where its log file is. Never your screen or keystrokes.
